Korean Overseas Information System, South Korea will hand over three retired patrol boats to Kazakhstan next month, as part of efforts to boost bilateral military ties, the Navy said on Monday (Feb. 27).
A 30-member Kazakh delegation led by Navy Capt. Zhanzakov Sadauyevich has been training here to learn the patrol boat's operating procedures since Feb. 13.
The three patrol boats were retired in December 2004 after operating in South Korean waters for about 25 years. Kazakhstan may use the boats for training.
