AGENCE FRANCE-PRESSE, Israel has launched feasibility studies into acquiring a pilotless submarine after already putting into use a naval speedboat which can be operated without anyone on board, a newspaper reported May 12.
The miniature submarine, which will be difficult to detect on radars, could be used for intelligence gathering or to attack enemy boats, Maariv said.
The new technology could be controlled by new missile-equipped frigates that Israel is expected to purchase from the United States.
