The new company is located in Rome, New York on the site of the former Griffith's Air Force base. The state of New York has invested $25 million in the installation, which will provide 115 jobs in 2005. IAI said that Empire Air Center's 2005 sales were expected to reach $30 million.
IAI added that the new company would compete mostly in the US market, and would provide upgrading and repair services for airliners, cargo planes, and military planes. At the same time, the US company would make it possible to carry out projects for the Israel Air Force, financed by US aid money.
