Finnish news service, Finnish defence and aerospace group Patria told the Finnish News Agency (STT) Monday it would closely inspect the new Amos Fin (Advanced Mortar System – Finland) vehicles after an incident where a shell landed and exploded 155 metres from an observation post manned by conscripts.
No one was hurt in the incident, which happened on Sunday, the Finnish Defence Forces (FDF) said in a statement Monday.
Finnish artillery regulations stipulate that the minimum distance between a fire observation post and the target is 300m.
