Indian Ministry of Defence, — BRAHMOS JOINT VENTURE PROJECT
The development of anti-ship version of BrahMos has been completed with all eight tests being successful.Production is in progress for induction in Indian Navy from 2005 onwards for many ship platforms.
The authorized capital of the joint venture for development was $ 250 million. An Inter-Government
Agreement has been signed between India and Russia. The missile development is a joint effort from design to production and marketing to Indian and Russian Armed Forces and to mutually-agreed friendly countries.
Some countries have shown interest in BrahMos, since supersonic cruise missile is not available with any other country.
This information was given by the Defence Minister Shri Pranab Mukherjee in a written reply to Smt Nivedita Mane and Shri SD Mandlik in Lok Sabha today.
–EXPORT OF ALH
A team of experts from the Hindustan Aeronautic Limited (HAL) has visited Chile to demonstrate the Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH), Dhruv. Flight Demonstration of four ALHs was conducted by HAL in Chile from June 24, 2004 to Jul 07, 2004. HAL has received purchase orders from abroad. HAL has supplied two ALHs to Royal Nepalese Army. For marketing purpose, the ALH is demonstrated at prominent air shows abroad. Further, business meetings are arranged for HAL to promote this Helicopter.

–SNAG IN MISSILE WEAPON SYSTEM
During the acceptance trials, the Russian built Krivak-III class frigate. INS Talwar developed a snag in the Shtil-I surface-to-air missile weapons system.
The delivery of the first frigate, INS Talwar, was delayed on account of unsatisfactory performance of surface-to-air missile weapon system. It was delivered 13 months after the original delivery date. Negotiations are in progress for assessing the Liquidated Damages as provided in the contract.
