India carried out its third test in three days of its surface-to-air Akash missile Jan. 30 at an eastern coastal testing range, a defense official said.
The missile was fired from the Chandipur-on-Sea testing site, 200 kilometers (125 miles) northeast of the Orissa state capital Bhubaneswar, the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity.
The domestically developed missile was test-fired from rocket launchers and hit its flying target successfully, the official said.
On Saturday, India twice successfully tested the same missile from the same range.
