Srinagar: A helicopter of the Indian Air Force caught fire during refuelling in Bandipora district of Jammu and Kashmir today, leaving two persons injured.
The fire broke out in the Mi-17 helicopter, engaged in delivering essential commodities to troops in border areas, when it landed at a BSF camp in Mandhar for refuelling, officials said.
The helicopter was slightly damaged in the fire. One of the two injured was a jawan.
Ruling out sabotage, the officials said the fire was accidental and it was doused within half-an-hour with the help of local fire service personnel.
A departmental inquiry has been ordered to ascertain the cause of the fire.
