AGENCE FRANCE-PRESSE, Around 1,000 troops conducted a major military exercise on the Greek island of Gavdos on Sept. 12 to prepare for a possible humanitarian disaster in the region, the Greek army headquarters said.
Greek navy, air force and ground troops gathered on Gavdos, south of Crete, for the exercise, which focused on rapid deployment in response to a simulated violent earthquake in the area.
