There have been some reports that the Turkish army have been fighting intense battles with the PKK, some of which are based in Syrian territory.Turkey's strategy of supporting Syrian rebels seems to have backfired;
.:Middle East Online::Turkey’s Kurdish rebels escalate attacks following latest developments in Syria:.
I think it would be wise for Assad to offer Syrian Kurds autonomy in return for support against the Syrian rebels. After all, the Sunni majority in Syria are not likely to be more sympathetic to the Kurds and the extremist elements of the Syrian insurgency are likely to be far worse masters to the Kurds than the alawites are.
