Finnish Government news service, The Finnish defence ministry's acquisition of second-hand heavy rocket launchers from the Netherlands requires green light by the US Congress, the Finnish Defence Forces told the Finnish News Agency (STT) on Thursday.
The inspector of the artillery at Defence Staff, Colonel Jukka Haaksiala, expects Congress to approve the acquisition by the end of spring.
Developed jointly by the US, the UK, Germany and France, the M270 multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) contains American weapons technology.
The value of the acquisition is 45.3 million euros.
