PALO ALTO: Frost & Sullivan will host an exclusive interactive briefing on Dec. 19, 2006 at 3 p.m. EST to benefit research staff, strategic planners, business development managers and marketing executives active in the U.S. training and simulation industry.
As the United States is engaged militarily in Afghanistan and Iraq in the Global War on Terror, the simulation and training industry has found a new sense of dynamism, especially in 2006. Lessons learned, after action reviews and current events on the ground have been fed back to military trainers and educators. They have found an urgent need for a new-breed of simulation and training solutions that are beyond a 'big box' in order to respond to asymmetric threats such as IEDs and other 'soft' problems, such as ineffective cross-cultural communication, resulting in needless casualty and death. Training and simulation solutions have been particularly dynamic in the land environment, such as counter-IEDs training, effective cultural acclimatization and in MOUT, or military operations on urban terrain.
Those interested in participating in this exclusive outlook should send an email to Tori Foster, [email protected], with the following information for registration: Full Name, Company Name, Title, Telephone Number, Fax Number and Email address. Upon receipt of the above information, a confirmation/pass code for the live briefing will be emailed to you.
“Events in Iraq and Afghanistan, be it IEDs (improvised explosive devices), cultural clashes between the Coalition Forces and host country nationals, or difficulties in providing post-conflict security stabilization have all required warfighters to be trained or re-trained to solve the particular problem. Traditionally, militaries have been geared towards high- intensity, kinetic, conventionally warfare and lack the necessary non-kinetic, PMESII (Political, Military, Economic, Social, Information, and Infrastructure) skills to win wars by other means. Only some of the required simulation and training solutions have been introduced and a lot of Three Block War problems have yet to be resolved,” notes Research Analyst Garrick Ngai.
Highlight(s) of the briefing include: total U.S. military training and simulation market analysis, emerging trends and an illustration of a successful tool that tackles any one “block” of the Three Block War.
