SYDNEY: An explosion ripped through a munitions plant in South Australia state Tuesday, injuring a number of people and leaving others missing, the national news agency AAP reported.
Emergency service crews were searching for survivors after the midday blast at the factory near Gladstone in the north of the state, police said.
“There are initial reports from the scene that people have been injured and people unaccounted for,” a police spokesman was quoted as saying.
