Terma A/S, Terma A/S has been awarded a contract from EADS Deutschland GmbH for development and manufacture of the Countermeasures Signal Processor (CSP) for the EADS Defence Electronics MILDS AAR-60(V)2 Missile Warner System.
The AAR-60(V)2 is a fighter version of the MILDS AAR-60 system which is operational on several transport and helicopter platforms. The launch customer for the AAR-60(V)2 is the Royal Danish Air Force (RDAF) who signed contracts with EADS for delivery of the AAR-60(V)2 and with Terma for integration of the system on the Danish F-16s.
The CSP is the controller of the AAR-60(V)2 system, and it is being installed in Terma modified Wing Weapon Pylons (PIDS+ and ECIPS+) where the CSP is interfacing to Terma Electronic Warfare Management System in the F-16 cockpit. This mission customized installation will be the first fully integrated, operational MWS on the F-16 where it is a major improvement of the survivability of the aircraft.
The close cooperation on the Danish program between EADS and Terma has developed into joint marketing of the AAR-60(V)2 installation for other customers.
