CORONA, Calif: Meggitt Airdynamics, a Meggitt group company, announced today that it has received an add-on contract from General Dynamics to provide cooling fans for the U.S. Marine Corps' light-armored vehicle that is produced by General Dynamics Land Systems – Canada.
Lloyd Oshiro, general manager of Meggitt Airdynamics, said, “Our unique fan system provides essential thermal management cooling for the LAV's engine, including the radiator, gear box, oil and avionics. It is an extremely reliable hydraulically driven fan that has been utilized for several years in previous similar vehicles.”
Meggitt Airdynamics designs and manufactures custom fluid products for extreme environments in a multitude of aerospace and military platforms. Based in Corona, Calif., the company over the years has provided pumps, fans, compressors and traction drive motor systems for key programs that include the Joint Strike Fighter, Littoral Combat ships, the Air Reconnaissance Helicopter, and for a variety of military fighter and transport platforms.
Its Corona facility personnel continue to support new and sustaining programs in manufacturing, test and engineering. Meggitt Airdynamics is a division of Whittaker Controls, located in North Hollywood, Calif., which provides administrative services related to contract and financial matters.
