Tewksbury MA: Raytheon's Cobra Judy Replacement (CJR) Mission Equipment (ME) Program successfully completed its X-Band Critical Design Review last month. The intensive three-day event featured a review of the overall CJR ME system design as well as the design of the X-Band Radar hardware.
This milestone validated to the U.S. Navy that the CJR ME X-Band design is complete, stable and ready for construction.
Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems (IDS) is the prime contractor for the CJR Mission Equipment Program, an integrated, surveillance and ballistic missile data collection radar system to support U.S. treaty monitoring activities. Its dual-band radar suite consists of X-band and S-band phased array sensors and other related mission equipment. Northrop Grumman is Raytheon's principal team partner, with responsibility for the design and construction of the CJR ME S-band phased array antenna.
“Through its unprecedented capability to collect data on ballistic missile tests, the CJR system will help our nation prepare for the missile defense challenges of the future,” said Pete Franklin, vice president of the Missile Defense Business Area in Raytheon IDS.
