Cambodia is destroying 36 surface-to-air missiles discovered recently at a military base to prevent them from falling into the hands of international militants.
The director general of the defence ministry's technical and materials department, Chao Pirun, says the cache of Soviet-era missiles will all be destroyed within a month.
The move comes a month after Prime Minister Hun Sen admitted weapons had been smuggled from the kingdom to rebel groups abroad.
Cambodia, which has for years been a source of illegal small arms to the region, destroyed 233 similar shoulder-launched anti-aircraft missiles last year.
