CAE, MONTREAL: CAE has been awarded a US$8.8 million (C$10.4 million) contract from FlightSafety Services Corporation, the prime contractor, to upgrade one C-5 Galaxy weapon systems trainer (WST) for the U.S. Air Force and to provide an upgrade kit and computer systems for another WST.
Contract options worth an additional US$7.6 million (C$10.4 million) could bring the total value to more than US$16 million (C$19 million).
The simulator upgrade will ensure concurrency with current aircraft upgrades being performed as part of the C-5 Avionics Modernization Program (AMP). CAE will upgrade one C-5 WST at Travis Air Force Base (AFB) in California to the AMP configuration and will provide an AMP upgrade kit for another WST at Westover Air Reserve Base (ARB) in Massachusetts.
