http://allafrica.com/, Two British Naval ships RFA Sir Bedivere and RFA Fort Rosalie have berthed at the Tema Harbour since Wednesday afternoon, September 1 2004 to off-load logistics and supplies for the six-week long joint military exercise code-named Ex-Western Rhumba 04.
The exercise is a bilateral training exercise aimed at practising tactics, techniques and procedures required to operate in the jungle.
The main venue for the exercise will be based around the Achiase Jungle Warfare School in the Eastern Region.
However, the troops will also undertake advanced training in helicopter drills, watermanship, and live firing at the Bundase range in Greater Accra.
As is normal with such military operations, the engineers supporting the exercise will also undertake civil action programmes involving the construction of classrooms for a local school and the repair of infrastructure and training facilities within the exercise area.
There will be a Press briefing for the Ghanaian Media aboard RFA Fort Rosalie today Thursday September 2, 2004 on the joint military exercise.
