http://www.thedailystar.net, Prime Minister Khaleda Zia said here yesterday that the government would continue to acquire latest technology, equipment and accessory to reinforce the air force suiting to time.
“This country belongs to all of us. We all have to contribute towards the development of the country and enhancement of its prestige and honour side by side safeguarding the independence and sovereignty,” said Khaleda Zia while inaugurating the Bogra Radar Unit at Baropur 12 kilometres north of the town.
The prime minister who also holding the charge of the ministry of defense, said that the government would install a radar at Moulvibazar as part of its continued efforts to add the latest technology to the air force and to enhance its ability and skill to help accomplish demand of the time.
She hoped that air defence would be further strengthened when radar would be installed at Moulvibazar.
Khaleda said that the launching of the radar unit at Bogra is an example of the people's efforts to continue development trend side by side facing calamities.
She inaugurated the Bogra Radar Unit by unveiling the plaque of the unit.
Earlier, on her arrival at the Bogra Radar Unit, the prime minister was received by chief of Air Staff Air Vice Marshall Fakhrul Azam.
Khaleda urged the members of the airforce to acquire professional excellence, a discipline and leadership qualities through continued professional training and hard work.
She appreciated the BAF members' role during calamities and in the UN peacekeeping missions.
