On May 27, 2008, in the Shonefeld (Germany) the ILA’2008 International air show started its work. Antonov delegation headed by V.N.Korol, Director General, represents a number of modern programmes which could become a basis for strengthening the existing business links and for establishing the new ones with the enterprises of the European countries.
Among them are: design of new jet airplanes of the AN-148 family, further development of AN-140 turboprop airplane, AN-124-100 Ruslan transport, AN-70 medium STOL military-transport aircraft, AN-74 and AN-32 multi-purpose ones. The AN-32P multipurpose aircraft can be an effective mean to realize the general European programme of the active response to extraordinary situations.
It is able to extinguish fires, to transport and to airdrop different cargoes, to evacuate suffered persons, to base at the wide net of airfields including unpaved ones. The aircraft proved its effectiveness many times when performing different tasks including the forest fires extinguishing in Spain, Portugal, Ukraine and Albania.
Another task of ASTC participation in the ILA’2008 is representing the large possibilities of the enterprise in transportations of oversized and non-standard cargoes. They are being performed by aviation transport subdivision of Antonov known as Antonov Airlines.
The AN-124-100 Ruslan airplanes with cargo capacity up to 150 t are the basis of Antonov Airlines’ fleet. Just from the beginning of 2008 Ruslans have transported 28 100 t of the various cargoes including 1 250 t delivered to Germany and 2 500 t were taken from this country. A part of those transportations were performed in accordance with the long-term contract concluded with a number of the European countries.
During the ILA’2008 exhibition it is planned to conduct a series of negotiations targeted to prolong the agreement.
