Eurosam, On October 12th 2005, a first qualification firing of the ASTER 30 ammunition carried out within the framework of the PAAMS contract took place. This successful firing comes after the successful firings of the PAAMS on June 1rst 2005 and of the SAMP/T system qualification on July 26th 2005.
The firing profile is representative of the interception of a subsonic missile at a distance of 17.5 km within a salvo of 2 missiles flying at an altitude of 1000m and attacking an escort vessel. This firing was carried out at the CELM Landes test centre as part of the PAAMS tripartite (France, Italy, United Kingdom) naval programme.
Once again, all firing goals were achieved.
Besides the PAAMS system, which will equip the Franco-Italian frigates Horizon and British Type 45 destroyers for ensuring their self-protection and area defence, EUROSAM proposes a family of naval and land systems capable of various missions corresponding to the new generation of threats:
