San Diego CA: American Technology has announced it has received new orders totaling approximately $2.0 million for ATC's patent pending Long Range Acoustic Devices (LRAD) and support equipment. The majority of the new LRADs are scheduled for deployment by the U.S. Army in Iraq and by an Australian military service. These orders have been shipped or are expected to ship this quarter.

LRAD was showcased earlier this year at the Pacific 2006 International Maritime Conference and exhibition held at Darling Harbor in Sydney, Australia, generating considerable attention from visiting naval officers and representatives of law enforcement, customs and other agencies from around the world.

“These new orders reflect a dramatic surge of activity from customers seeking military, security and industrial LRAD solutions,” commented Tom Brown, president and chief executive officer of ATC. “Through our improved and enhanced product offering and direct sales efforts, we are pursuing increasing U.S. military business and international LRAD order expansion.”

LRAD communicates in excess of 500 meters with authority and high intelligibility through vocal commands and powerful warning tones to influence behavior, gain compliance and determine intent. ATC's patent pending technology achieves high intensity 15-30 beam directionality with very low power. LRADs are currently deployed in a variety of government, military and commercial applications around the world, including military deployments with the U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Army and U.S. Navy.
