National Post with files from news services, A deadly weekend bomb attack on a predominantly Arab housing compound in Riyadh has sparked outrage among Muslim leaders. Intelligence officials say the backlash could be a turning point in the U.S.-led war on terror.

Suspected al-Qaeda gunmen shot their way into the al-Muhaya compound, home to mostly Arab expatriates from across the Middle East, and detonated an explosives-laden car, killing 17 people, including four children, and wounding more than 120.
