NEWINGTON, N.H.: Air National Guard, active-duty and Reserve units from across New England teamed up June 6 to demonstrate and highlight aerial refueling as a way to kick off a summer-long celebration of 60 years of Air Force history.
The celebration promotes Air Force Week New England which will take place in August with major air shows at Pease Air National Guard Base in New Hampshire and Otis ANGB in Massachusetts.
F-16 Fighting Falcons from Vermont, A-10 Thunderbolt IIs from Connecticut and F-15 Eagles from Massachusetts were refueled by two KC-135s from New Hampshire.
Air Force Weeks are designed to highlight the Air Force's heritage and contributions to the war on terrorism. Six locations throughout the nation were chosen to host an Air Force Week and Pease ANGB and Otis ANGB were selected to co-host Air Force Week New England.
