Australian Department of Defence, Around 120 Royal Australian Air Force personnel and 9 F/A-18 Hornets have deployed to Korat in Thailand to participate with the Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF) in Exercise Thai Boomerang.
Defence Minister Robert Hill said Exercise Thai Boomerang was a bilateral exercise designed to improve interoperability between the two air forces, with RAAF F/A-18 Hornet crews practising air-to-air missions with their RTAF counterparts in F-16s.
“Thai Boomerang represents an important opportunity for our Air Force personnel to practise operating with their Thai counterparts and to improve the working level relationships between the airmen and women of both air forces,” Senator Hill said.
“The exercise follows on from Thailand
