POMPTON PLAINS: Smart Energy Solutions, inventor and manufacturer of the innovative Battery Brain(TM) vehicle aftermarket device, today announced it will unveil a new generation of advanced battery systems for military use at the Army's Expedited Modernization Initiative Procedure (EMIP) on July 26.
“Our original Battery Brain underwent an extensive evaluation process with the Army on its Stryker vehicle group and from that we know we can enhance the effectiveness of the military fleets,” according to Pete Mateja, CEO of Smart Energy Solutions. “Recognizing the unique needs of Army vehicles, we have designed and will unveil an advanced generation Battery Brain that will prevent dead batteries and prolong the life of the batteries particularly in areas like Iraq and Afghanistan.”
Mateja indicated that the military would be given the first applications of the new system but then the company would plan to make it commercially available to all car, light duty and heavy duty truck users. There are over 155,000 military tactical vehicles with the U.S. Army and another 196,000 vehicles with other U.S. military agencies.
EMIP is a continuous market research process by the Army that seeks to improve the current and future fleet of Combat and Combat Service support systems by identifying advanced technologies at the component level. The Army experts will use a number of test sites in southeast Michigan to look at new systems every April, July and October with an emphasis on improving the capabilities of combat support systems in safety, survivability, reliability, maintainability and sustainability – all designed to enhance Army's mission capability. Once a new system or product enhancement is validated, it is then qualified for possible integration into the vehicle fleet.
Battery Brain(TM) is Smart Energy's flagship device that constantly monitors electrical discharge of the battery for nearly all kinds of vehicles including autos, SUVs/trucks, medium and heavy duty trucks, military, buses, RV's, boats, commercial vehicles and personal watercraft. Should Battery Brain detect that the battery is losing sufficient charge to start the vehicle's engine; the device automatically disconnects the battery to preserve its starting power. In addition, Battery Brain offers a built-in anti-theft feature.
