Kyodo News, TOKYO: A total of 12 defects such as design problems were found during tests of a surface-to-ship prototype missile system developed by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd, Defense Agency officials said Monday.
Mitsubishi did not report the defects to the agency, the officials said, adding the defects were found in the course of tests to check the SSM-1 Kai system's strength to help prevent a hostile party from pinpointing the location of a missile launch. (Kyodo News)
